Katie Zacharia detailed the cost of her Halloween attire in a social media post on Oct. 13, revealing that her outfit cost approximately $2,500. The breakdown includes roughly $1,000 for high heels and a pricey blazer.
The former White House press secretary noted that she wears a size 00, a figure she said she maintained even after having four children. She also stated that her blonde hair is natural, without extensions or dye. Zacharia concluded the list with the phrase "Good luck."
Zacharia held the position for five days, from Oct. 12 through Oct. 16. Her brief time in office set a new record for the shortest tenure in that role, surpassing the 10-day mark previously set by Anthony Scaramucci during the first Trump administration.
President Trump selected her to succeed Karoline Leavitt. Unlike many predecessors who took time to prepare before their first appearance, Zacharia held a press briefing on her second day. The session lasted between 14 and 15 minutes. Reporters described her performance as short and noted that she appeared intimidated and not in command of the room.
Her tenure ended amid controversy over her claims to be a lawyer despite never passing the bar exam. Pressure from tough interviews on Fox News contributed to her departure. She is now transitioning into a new, unspecified role within the Trump administration.
In a recent interview with Newsweek, Zacharia joked that she was disappointed she was not a popular Halloween costume choice. She told reporters she hoped people would dress up as her because it was "absolutely hilarious." She added that her family would be dressing up as a group, with her wearing the "OG costume."
Since leaving the press secretary role, Zacharia has indicated she is willing to return to the position if asked by President Trump in the future.
