Rep. Ilhan Omar posted a video on social media on Friday showing her walking a lakeside dock in Minnesota, accompanied by a Somali hip-hop song that contains lyrics about scattering and crushing enemies. The post appeared days after federal agents searched her home in Washington, D.C., as part of a criminal probe into her immigration paperwork.

The video shows Omar and her husband, Tim Mynett, strolling across a dock with fall foliage in the background. The pair pose, smile, and chat while Omar holds a coffee cup. The clip ends with a montage of images from the walk. The audio track is the song 'Nimaan Ciilayba Icaaya' by Somali artist Ilkacase Qays, whose real name is Muse Abdikadir.

The lyrics, translated from Somali, state that no enemy dares threaten the speaker and that they flee when they step forward. The song describes the singer as the source of distress for opponents. It further claims that if a just person felt anger on the singer's behalf, they would crush the enemy underfoot using strength given by the almighty.

Omar returned to public view in Minnesota on Friday after spending nearly two weeks out of the spotlight. The absence followed a raid on her Washington home on Oct. 12, 2026, conducted by agents from Homeland Security Investigations. During that search, federal agents confiscated her passport and cellphone. Investigators also interviewed her sister, Sahra Noor, and obtained Omar's DNA.

On Friday, Omar cast an early ballot alongside Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. The two later attended a lunch at the Karmel Mall of Somalia in Minneapolis, where they posed for photographs with members of the community. Later that day, Omar uploaded the lakeside video to X, restricting who could reply directly. The only public comment came from former Rep. Cori Bush, who wrote, 'We love this.'

The congressional investigation centers on potential fraud related to immigration documents filled out by Omar or her father during her naturalization process. HSI, the main investigatory agency for the Department of Homeland Security, leads the inquiry. Border czar Tom Homan stated last week that if fraud is proven, Omar could be denaturalized.
