The Rockaway Times reached 3 million views across its Facebook and Instagram accounts between September 21 and October 20, 2026. That total averages more than 100,000 views per day. Talking Glass Media, an independent hyper-local news outlet, typically sees between 5,000 and 25,000 daily views across its platforms.

Nine posts from the paper surpassed the 100,000 view mark during that period. A photo of flood water from the recent nor'easter logged over 400,000 views and nearly 5,000 interactions. Posts showing a rainbow and large waves before the storm added another 26,000 combined interactions.

An October 17 table listing Catholic high school options also drew over 250,000 views. The figure continues to rise. Three crime-related posts also performed well. A story on the death of Malakai Adams generated more than 300 comments, many of which were condolences or prayer emojis.

The most clicked post announced that St. James would take over MTA storefronts on Beach 116th Street. It linked to an article by Kailey Aiken and recorded more than 1,700 clicks.

The paper has 60,000 Facebook followers and 27,000 Instagram followers. It accepts a limited number of sponsored posts from advertisers to support local businesses. The newsroom aims to avoid excessive advertising to preserve the experience for its audience.
