Miss Cherry Delight will release her second studio album, "Advice For Ashes," on November 4.
The project took seven years to complete. Delight collaborated on the 14-track record with producers Vision Video, Nite, Ashley Bad, and Marieke Bresseleers. The title honors Frankie Maddox Rex, the late lead singer of The FMs, who died in 2022.
Delight began the recording process in 2019. She finished the work recently to coincide with her 40th birthday. The musician stated that she wanted to enter her new decade by launching the record on the 40th anniversary of her birth, which occurred on November 4, 1986. She described the upcoming event as a full Scorpio ball for New York City.
The venue for the release party is the House of Yes at 2 Wyckoff Avenue in Brooklyn. Delight will perform with band members Justin Ethan Mathews, Mike Forzano, Cinque Ubangi Kemp, and Michael Butterly. The group will play the album in its entirety. The songs address specific topics, including the protection of Coney Island and the "Hello Kitty" murder case. Other tracks serve as tributes to burlesque performer Pearls Daily and folk artist Joe Coleman and his wife, Whitney Ward.
Guest vocalists Laura Lee Anderson and John Wlaysewski will join the performance. Anderson appears in the Broadway production "Masquerade," while Wlaysewski leads the band Late Cambrian. The event will also screen music videos directed by Dylan Mars Greenberg and Adam Ninyo. Sideshow and burlesque acts such as Kita St Cyr, Gin Minsky, and Chris McDaniel will perform between sets. Monsterwh_re and Starfox And The Fleet will provide additional musical performances.
Ponnyou will emcee the night. The host noted that this is their first time performing at House of Yes. Delight called the production her largest project to date. She stated that the show combines elements of her previous performance "Cherry Hellodies" with the new original songs. She mentioned that theatrical surprises are included in the set.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on November 4, with the show starting at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets cost $30. VIP options are available. The event is restricted to attendees 21 and older. Tickets are sold through shotgun.live/en/events/mcd.
Delight plans to perform the new material for the first time in front of an audience that night. The album release coincides with her 40th birthday. The venue is located in Brooklyn.
