ABS Gaming Rig Price Falls to $2,549.99

Pre-built gaming systems with high-end components rarely see large price cuts, but Newegg has lowered the cost of one such machine today. The retailer is selling the ABS Stratos II Ruby for $2,549.99, a discount of $450 from its standard list price.

The system is built on AMD's Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. It includes 32GB of DDR5 memory. ABS is Newegg's private label brand, which makes its inventory a common part of the retailer's catalog. Tom's Hardware identified this specific configuration as the lowest-priced RTX 5070 Ti gaming PC currently available on the Newegg platform.

The central processing unit is an eight-core chip that utilizes AMD's 3D V-Cache technology. This design increases the L3 cache to 96MB, allowing the processor to access data without frequently reaching for slower system memory. Tom's Hardware noted that while the chip no longer leads the outlet's benchmark rankings, it remains very close to the top and continues to outperform Intel processors in gaming tasks.

The graphics card is a current-generation Nvidia Blackwell model featuring 8,960 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR7 video memory. The component supports DLSS with multi-frame generation and is designed for 1440p and 4K resolution gaming. The 16GB of video memory provides more capacity than the 8GB found on lower-tier RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 cards, offering better headroom for demanding titles.

Additional hardware specifications include 6,000 MT/s G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo RGB memory and a 2TB Team Group NV5000 M.2 SSD. The drive supports Gen 4 speeds, which Tom's Hardware said provides sufficient space for multiple large game installations. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and Ethernet.

The system is cooled by a Bitspower 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. Tom's Hardware described the current price as strong for the market, citing the combination of the 9800X3D processor and RTX 5070 Ti graphics card alongside the $450 reduction.
