San Antonio recorded its first sub-100-point defensive performance of the season by defeating the Utah Jazz 119-97 on Monday night. The victory extended the Spurs to five consecutive wins in their home arena.
Dylan Harper led the team with 17 points, while Victor Wembanyama secured 12 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks. Stephon Castle added 16 points and Keldon Johnson contributed 15 points to the balanced attack.
The Spurs held Utah to 97 points, a season-best defensive effort for San Antonio. Seven players from the home team reached double figures in scoring, reducing reliance on any single scorer during the streak.
San Antonio shot 60 percent from the field and dominated the third quarter with a 35-20 advantage. Wembanyama, Harper, Castle, and De'Aaron Fox each scored six points in that segment to widen the lead to 25 points.
Utah finished its fifth straight loss despite Lauri Markkanen recording 22 points and eight rebounds. The Jazz made just 7 of 26 shots in the first quarter, scoring a season-low 16 points in that period.
The Spurs outscored the Jazz 26-9 on fastbreak points and 52-36 in the paint. San Antonio hosts Dallas on Wednesday, while Utah travels to New Orleans for its next game.
