The U.K. and Ireland box office chart for the weekend of October 23 to 25, 2026, was dominated by a new horror-comedy from Lionsgate U.K. The film, Ghosts: The Possession of Button House, collected £2.4 million, which is approximately $3.2 million, across its opening weekend to take the number one position.

This debut places the film ahead of two other new releases. Warner Bros. horror thriller Clayface opened in second with $2.6 million. Amazon MGM Studios comedy feature Ali G: Who Iz I? took third place with $1.7 million in its first session.

Black Bear's animated fantasy Wildwood, directed by Travis Knight, ranked fourth with an opening of $1.36 million. Paramount's Street Fighter, which led the chart the previous weekend, fell to fifth in its second outing, adding $1.35 million to its total. The film now stands at a cumulative gross of $5.6 million.

Universal's animated feature Forgotten Island placed sixth in its second weekend, earning $1.2 million for a total of $3.7 million. Sony's psychological thriller Verity followed in seventh position in its fourth frame, adding $857,067. The adaptation of the Colleen Hoover book now has a running total of $14.4 million.

Universal's supernatural horror Other Mommy took eighth place in its third session with $576,822, bringing its gross to $6.2 million. Mubi's Fatherland debuted at number nine, generating $264,083 from 86 locations. The drama averaged $3,144 per screen, the fourth highest among new releases. Including preview screenings, the total opening reached $415,017, surpassing Cold War as director Pawel Pawlikowski's biggest launch in the territory.

Studiocanal's animated holdover Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom rounded out the top ten in its sixth frame, collecting $408,089 to lift its total to $6.1 million. Mubi's documentary Making Marie Antoinette opened across six sites, taking $1,737 over the weekend for a total of $24,355. This limited release begins a staggered rollout ahead of Park Circus's re-release of Sofia Coppola's 2006 feature Marie Antoinette on November 13.

Upcoming programming includes Trafalgar Releasing's broadcast of the Royal Ballet's Manon on Tuesday and the music documentary Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning on Wednesday. Wide commercial rollouts arriving on Friday across more than 300 locations are led by Disney's Everest: The Other Side, A24's Primetime, Black Bear's Wicker, and Kaleidoscope Entertainment's Arnie & Barney. Other releases include Universal's I Love Boosters, Action Xtreme's Bad Day at the Office, and the 20th anniversary 4K restoration of Pan's Labyrinth. The weekend concludes with Trafalgar Releasing's event cinema presentation of BTS World Tour 'Arirang' in Sao Paulo: Live Viewing.
