Bronx police are hunting for three teenage suspects in the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old student on Thursday morning.

Javits Frimpong was discovered with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen near the intersection of East 171st Street and Crotona Place in the Claremont neighborhood. Officers from the 42nd Precinct located him just before 9:30 a.m. on October 29.

The responding officers bypassed standard emergency medical services protocols to accelerate Frimpong's transport. They loaded him directly into a patrol vehicle and drove him to St. Barnabas Hospital. Medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival.

ABC7 reported that the victim was on his way to school when the ambush occurred. Police have not yet confirmed this detail. Investigators described the scene as a morning shooting that left the boy dead within hours of the incident.

Authorities released a description of the three suspects, who are all teenagers. Witnesses saw the group wearing black clothing and surgical masks. The suspects were last observed running southbound toward Crotona Park. No arrests have been made as of late Thursday.

The investigation remains active. The NYPD is asking the public to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS for information in English or 888-57-PISTA for Spanish. Residents can also submit tips online or via social media channels managed by the department. All communications are kept confidential.
