The Trump Accounts program creates individual investment vehicles for young Americans, with tax-deferred growth serving as a primary structural feature. Social Security Administration head Frank Bisignano recently directed specific capital into this framework for residents of his former home borough.

Bisignano contributed $250 to the individual accounts of eligible children living in ZIP code 11234. The geographic scope covers the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Mill Basin, Marine Park, Bergen Beach, and Flatlands. The age eligibility range for these specific deposits spans from two to eight years old.

The transfer of funds occurred through The Bisignano Family Fund. Bisignano announced the initiative on October 29, 2026. The deposited money was invested in a fund that tracks the performance of leading U.S. companies. This mechanism allows the assets to appreciate over time without immediate tax liability for the account holders.

Bisignano grew up in the Old Mill Basin neighborhood. He cited local institutions and community members as formative influences during his childhood. "Brooklyn is home for me," he stated. He described the contribution as a boost for the personal wealth building journeys of local children.

The program distinguishes itself from general charitable giving by routing money into specific child accounts. Parents and legal guardians must activate these accounts to receive contributions from various sources, including employers and friends. This step is required to unlock private philanthropic support within the system.

A separate federal provision applies to a later birth cohort. Children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, qualify for a $1,000 seed contribution from the U.S. Treasury. This government allocation is subject to standard program requirements and operates independently of private donations like the one from the Social Security head.
