Voters across Maryland can expect dry conditions and mild temperatures on Election Day Tuesday. The forecast calls for a chilly start with patchy fog along the eastern shore, but those conditions should clear by mid-morning.

Temperatures will rise to the mid-50s Fahrenheit by late morning. The most comfortable window for voting spans from late morning through the early evening. Lunchtime temperatures are projected to reach near 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Those heading to the polls in the afternoon will see partly sunny skies and temperatures in the lower 70s Fahrenheit. As the day progresses, the weather remains stable. Temperatures will drop into the 60s Fahrenheit by the time polls close at 8 p.m.

Moisture moving in from the south will bring thicker fog on Wednesday morning. Drivers should allow extra time for their commutes. The fog is expected to burn off by 10 a.m., clearing the way for a partly sunny and breezy day. High temperatures will climb into the lower to middle 70s Fahrenheit before clouds increase later in the day.

Rain will finally arrive after a dry spell lasting more than two weeks in central and eastern Maryland. Scattered showers are forecast for Thursday morning, with intermittent light showers possible through the evening. The Baltimore Ravens face the Jacksonville Jaguars at M&T Bank Stadium at 8:15 p.m. Thursday. While a few showers are possible, the game is not expected to be a washout. Temperatures during the event should remain in the mid to upper 60s Fahrenheit.

Steady rain, which could be heavy in spots, is set to develop on Friday. Areas along and east of I-95 have the best chance for this precipitation. The Maryland and Delaware beaches are likely to receive the heaviest rainfall. Forecasters advise monitoring updates in case the rain system shifts west.

The weekend will feature bright skies and brisk winds. High temperatures will stay in the 60s Fahrenheit both Saturday and Sunday. Winds will gust between 20 and 30 miles per hour throughout the weekend.
