American air and missile defense assets are moving from Texas to the Middle East as the United States and Israel prepare for a possible new round of combat operations against Iran. The deployment is set to occur after the November 3 midterm elections.

The Patriot system includes radar equipment, an engagement control station, missile launchers, and interceptor missiles. US officials said the unit is being positioned to strengthen American defenses amid preparations for a potential escalation. In parallel, the US has relocated troops from bases considered vulnerable to Iranian attacks.

Washington reportedly warned several Gulf Arab countries to prepare for a short, intense military campaign. US forces are replenishing munitions stockpiles, and officials said bomber aircraft and fighter jets are being prepared for possible strikes. An additional aircraft carrier strike group and a Marine Expeditionary Unit are expected to join the region in November.

Approximately 20 US warships are currently operating in the Middle East. Some vessels may rotate out as new units arrive. This buildup follows an earlier decision on October 1 to deploy the USS Theodore Roosevelt and additional Marine personnel to the region.

President Donald Trump is weighing further military action against Iran. He has not made a final decision on launching another campaign, but reports indicate he is leaning toward strikes targeting Iranian infrastructure and nuclear facilities. A negotiated agreement remains a possibility.

Iran has threatened to expand its retaliation if the US and Israel resume attacks. Tehran aims to target energy infrastructure, airports, and other civilian facilities across the Persian Gulf. The US also confirmed on Friday that Secretary of State Marco Rubio received an intelligence memorandum warning that Iranian efforts to target Americans had intensified.

Diplomatic sources said on October 15 that Iran instructed Hezbollah to increase its readiness in anticipation of further American military action.
